A trip you can never imagine!

Spain

Last year in November, I went to Spain for two weeks. To get to Spain, it took 30 hours! First we flew from Auckland to Hong Kong, then we flew from Hong Kong to London. After having six hours of rest time in the Air New Zealand koru lounge. From London we flew to Barcelona, Spain.

We arrived in Fira Palace, our hotel. We felt very tired because of the time difference New Zealand is twelve hours ahead of Spain.

The next day we wet to Barcelona Zoo to take a look at the animals. The day after that we went to the science museum called Cosmo Caixa. It also had an indoor tropical rainforest. On the night of my Mum's birthday, we went to the magical fountain. There was a show that happened every night at 8pm. The fountain shines with lights and water and there is music. No one is in charge of the show. It is automatic!

The next day we went to Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia. A famous monument in Barcelona. The Sagrada Familia was made by the architect Antoni Gaudi. Gaudi died in a trolley accident during the process of building the monument. 1o years later they decided to complete the Sagrada Familia closely following Gaudi's design.

The next day we flew from Barcelona to Valencia, Spain. We stayed in Palacio de Congresso in Eurostar hotel and Novetel hotel. In Valencia we visited the largest aquarium in Europe! In the aquarium we saw a really cool dolphin show.

We also went to a really nice restaurant called Pepe Pica and ate some delicious spanish food. We really enjoyed our trip to Spain. We flew from Valencia to Barcelona to London to Hong Kong then Auckland. We arrived late in the night and went straight to school the next day.

Cellphones

Cellphones are portable communication devices. Before cellphones, two way radios were used in vehicles but weren’t cellphones because they were not connected to a telephone network. Users could not dial numbers from their cars.

In 1910 Lars Magnus installed a telephone in his car, it wasn’t a radio telephone. While driving in the country, he connected using a long pair of wires to the national telephone line.

In Europe, radio telephony was first used on first class passenger trains between Berlin and Hamburg in 1926. Also in 1926 radio telephony was introduced on passenger aircraft for air traffic security.

In 1946, engineers G . Shapiro and I . Zaharchenko successfully tested their version of a radio mobile phone mounted inside a car. The device could connect to the local telephone network with a range of 20 km.

The first person to have a mobile phone was Prince Phillip, who had the system fitted in the trunk of his Aston Martin. The prince could make a phone call to the queen while driving, which was thought to be quite amazing.

In 1958, Kupriyanovich resized his radiophone to “ pocket version”.

So thats the process of the cellphone we have today!

Global warming

Here is my report on global warming:

Global Warming

Global warming is caused by greenhouse gases which go into the atmosphere and trap heat causing the earths temperature to rise.

Air pollution, transportation fuels, fossil fuel retrieval and distribution, power stations, agricultural byproducts and deforestation release greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide.

The most significant way you contribute to global warming is by driving your car. requires a tremendous amount of fossil fuels that have been storing carbon for thousands of years and when your car burns them, the carbon is released as carbon dioxide.

Buying your home requires the clearing of trees for land to build your house. Trees convert carbon dioxide to oxygen but are being demolished for buildings. When trees are killed the carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere.

Buying supermarket meat requires clearing trees for farmland to grow animals and fossil fuel powered machines. Also the animals digestive tracts release methane.

Population is also a strong cause because more people means more methods of food and transportation.

Proof of global warming is that global temperature has risen by 0.4-0.8 degrees celsius since the 19th century. In the 20th century, the ten warmest years were all after 1985. Of these 1998 was the warmest and 2001 second warmest. Rainfall in the world has rise by 1%. More water vapour in the air in the air in the air is causing heavy rain in more areas.

Now that you know what causes global warming, what can you do about it.
